Assignments: The individual hired into this Research Associate position will have strong economic research skills and experience. In this position, you will develop databases, build models, analyze economic and financial information, and develop forecasts as part of consulting teams working with our clients in various business-to-business industries. Assignments are likely to span a wide spectrum, including assignments that are largely statistical in nature, assignments that focus on company and industry structure, and assignments that focus on developing an in-depth understanding of specific market segments.

Qualifications: Candidates for this position must be located in Chicago and will have a B.S. or M.S. in economics or statistics or from a strong quantitative business program; two or more years of experience in economic research and analysis; strong writing, communications, and analytic skills; an ability to work independently; and an ability to work with various databases, software programs, and analytic tools. Experience in the consulting industry or within the business-to-business sector is a strong plus.

Contributions: Successfully completes defined research tasks on schedule and at high levels of quality. Contributes to economic modeling, data management, forecasting, scheduling, client interviewing, and development of reports and other deliverables for clients. Showcases strong analytical skills, creativity in problem solving, good communications skills within the project team and with clients, and an ability to draw preliminary conclusions from data and information. Identifies steps that can be taken to bring value to clients and to avoid roadblocks to success on project efforts. Masters Blue Canyon’s methodology and research processes, and showcases this mastery in ongoing project work.
